Churchkey

No not the bar, we’re talking about the Churchkey Can Company. A churchkey was the ironic name of the tool used to open beer cans back in the day. You see, beer cans didn’t always come in their pop-the-top format as we know them today. They actually used to be flat top cans with no perforated hole. So the churchkey was the tool used to create holes in the top and pour the beer out.

So obviously in the name of all things retro and hipster the Churchkey Can Company has come out with their own beer which brings the good ol’ format back. And with every pack of Churchkey beer you get a prize… a churchkey (surprise surprise).

Looks like Columbia Heights just found their new beer of choice. Move over PBR!
