Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban

The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is not a bad every day kinda drink. It’s good enough to drink on its own, but it’s not too fancy to put into a mixed drink. I mean I’m not talking about a crappy whiskey and coke, but if you want to make a fancier whiskey cocktail then this is a good choice. It’s on the subtle side though so if you are going to mix it then don’t do anything too overpowering. Mix it with other subtle ingredients. The hints of orange make it a good substitute for orange liqueurs like Triple Sec or Cointreau (but obviously a LOT less orangey).

To The Eye

A nice mix of orange and pink.

To The Nose

Pretty subtle yet sweet hints of oranges and chocolate, and even a tad buttery.

To The Tongue

The subtle notes of orange come through from the nose to the initial taste. The sweetness hits you at the base of your tongue. It’s also slightly spicy at the back of the throat but it doesn’t last long.

To The End

No spice in the finish. Pretty weak finish overall. The aftertaste is a bit like you’d have after drinking some sherry.
