Cinco de Mayo Cocktails

It is Cinco de Mayo — and what a better well to celebrate than with an awesome cocktail.

1½ oz. Tequila Avión Reposado
¾ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
¾ oz. simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
Fresh red pepper
Cilantro

In a shaker, muddle a piece of red pepper and a little bit of cilantro. Add the Tequila Avión Reposado, lime juice and simple syrup. Then fill shaker with ice, give it a good shake, and strain it into a glass. Garnish with a piece of red pepper and cilantro. 

Caliente_ViejoCaliente Viejo

2 oz. Tequila Avión Añejo
¾ oz. hot pepper infused agave nectar
3 dashes of orange bitters
Orange Twist

Start by adding Tequila Avión Añejo, agave nectar to a shaker with ice. Finish it off with a dash of orange bitters. Gently stir (do not shake) the cocktail. Gently strain your cocktail into a glass filled with ice. Garnish an orange twist. 

Papaya SmashPapaya Smash

1 ¼ oz. Tequila Avión Añejo
½ oz. Aperol
¼ oz. agave nectar
½ oz. orange juice
¾ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
Slices of fresh papaya

 Add a slice of fresh papaya and agave nectar to your shaker. Muddle to release the papaya flavor. Add Tequila Avión Añejo, Aperol and orange and lime juices. Add ice and give it a good shake. Strain into a glass with ice, and garnish with a fresh slice of papaya.

 Spicy Sage MargaritaSpicy Sage Margarita

2 oz. Tequila Avión Silver
¾ oz. jalapeño infused Elderflower Liqueur
½ oz. orange juice
¼ oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
½ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
4 sage leaves

Muddle three sage leaves in a shaker. Add all ingredients and shake. Double strain into a salt-rimmed glass over ice. Garnish with sage leaf.

Black FridayThe Black Friday

1 ½ oz. Tequila Avión Reposado
¾ oz. black peach tea
¼ oz. white peach puree
¼ oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
¾ oz. brown sugar
¼ oz. Cranberry Juice
3 Blackberries
1 Blackberry and Lemon Wheel for garnish

Muddle two blackberries and brown sugar in shaker. Add all remaining ingredients and shake. Double strain into a glass over ice. Garnish with blackberry and a lemon wheel.

Mile HighMile High

2 oz. Tequila Avión Silver
1 oz. pineapple juice
½ oz. agave nectar
½ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
2 jalapeños wheels

Pineapple wedge or lime wheel for garnish

Lightly muddle jalapeño wheels and agave nectar in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients, fill with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into a large rocks glass that has been rimmed with a mixture of chili powder and salt. Garnish with a lime wheel or pineapple wedge.
