Beer and art highlight this weekend’s events

Weekend Round-Up: November 5 and 6

Lovers of beer will want to venture out of the city to Mad Fox Brewing Company on Saturday, Nov. 5.  Here you can celebrate cask ale from 20-plus breweries from around the region. There will be live music and food plus activities for the kids. VIP tickets feature early admission sampling, and unlimited food until 5 p.m. General admission ticket holders receive a sampler glass from Mad Fox and six tickets for food and beer samples. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

On Sunday, Nov. 6, stay in town and check out “People on the Move: Beauty and Struggle in Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series.”  Artist Jacob Lawrence created this moving 60-panel series portraying the movement of over a million African Americans from the rural south to the industrial North.  The exhibit presented by the Phillips Collection  started October 8 and runs through January 8 and features all 60 of the panels.

Admission is $12 for adults; $10 for students as well as visitors 62 and over; free for members and visitors 18 and under. Ticket includes admission to all exhibitions on view.
