The Hamilton has partnered with Angel’s Envy to produce its own exclusive blend of the whiskey maker’s Kentucky straight bourbon.

“I wanted a unique blend that would work well for cocktails,” said Samantha Withall, beverage manager at The Hamilton.

Withall and her colleagues worked with Angel’s Envy for the last two months to develop a custom blend – building on the distiller’s signature practice of finishing its bourbon in old Port barrels.

The new blend was introduced for the first time last night and received rave reviews.

Invited guest were treated to two cocktails: the “Fashion Envy”  made with the special blend of Angel’s Envy mixed with Smith & Woodhouse 10 year tawny port, house made bitters, demerara sugar, and an orange swatch; and the “Ebbitt Sazeraz” made with the special bend of Angel’s Envy, Pernod Anise, Peychaud’s Bitters, sugar, and a lemon swatch.

Angel’s Envy produced only 20 cases of the special blend, which were split between The Hamilton and its sister restaurant Old Ebbitt Grill. Local and visiting whiskey fans are encouraged to stop by either restaurants this holiday season to enjoy a special Angel’s Envy cocktail (or few) while supplies last.
