Saturday all eyes will be at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Maryland for the 142nd running of the Preakness Stakes. This is the second leg of the famed Triple Crown, which to many is the highlight of horse racing season. For 6 weeks horse racing fans and curious spectators look toward the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and Belmont Stakes in the hopes of seeing a thoroughbred capture the Triple Crown.
This year Always Dreaming, the 3-year-old American thoroughbred hopes to wrap up his second win and be 2/3rds closer to nabbing the crown. Only twelve other horses have accomplished this feat since 1919 with American Pharoah being the last to win in 2015. This year 9 other thoroughbreds are hoping to prevent him from being lucky number 13.

The event appeals to a variety of spectators where some flock to the infield to enjoy the race in a festive party like atmosphere while others prefer a more refined approach and make their way to the grandstands. Either way there’s something for everyone.
