ECCO Shoes Opens in Pentagon City

On Saturday, ECCO Shoes became one of the newest stores to open its doors in the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. This is the premium shoes and leather goods manufacturer’s 39th full priced retail store to open in the U.S. The almost 1,300 square foot store carries a variety of footwear styles for both men and women including outdoor, casual, dress, golf and sports styles.

The opening of the store was celebrated with a ribbon cutting, celebratory mocktails and mini cupcakes courtesy of Sprinkles Cupcakes. As part of this opening celebration, ECCO had hourly drawings from 2 to 5 p.m. where visitors had the chance to win a pair of the brand’ new shoes as well as a raffle to win a $500 gift card.

“ECCO is a family-owned brand built on uncompromising quality, innovative technology and thoughtful design, “ said Dave Quell, President at ECCO USA, Inc. “We feel that our partnership with the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City gets us one step closer to our goal of being the leading premium brand for shoes and leather goods.”

ECCO Shoes was founded in Denmark by shoemaker, Karl Toosbuy in 1963 and has grown into a global brand with factories and stores worldwide. It has the distinction of managing its entire manufacturing process from start to finish. The company designs the collections, produces the leather from company owned tanneries as well as make the shoes from company owned factories.

The opening of ECCO Shoes, located near Nordstrom on the second level, comes as Pentagon City has undergone a major renovation to update the popular mall. Existing stores have refreshed their spaces while the Centre has brought in exciting new stores to add to the mix. Other retailers now open or coming soon include LoveSac, Long Tall Sally, Superdry, and Whiskey Ginger Men’s Shop.
