National Harbor is hosting two awesome events this Saturday, Aug. 19. There is the TAP Beer Fest at MGM National Harbor and the Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival at The Plateau at National Harbor.  Luckily, if you want to do each of them you will not have to make any King Solomon like decision. The timing for the events easily allows for attendance to both.

The TAP Beer Fest

TAP Sports Bar at MGM National Harbor is hosting The TAP Beer Fest on the large outdoor Potomac Plaza from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is featuring six local and nationally recognized breweries:

  • Flying Dog Brewery, Fredrick, Maryland
  • Stone Brewing, Richmond, Virginia
  • Port City Brewing Company, Alexandria, Virginia
  • Jailbreak Brewing Company, Laurel, Maryland
  • Terrapin Beer Co., Athens, Georgia
  • Miller Lite, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

For $30, guests 21+ will receive a wrist band, a six ticket drink booklet, and a limited edition sample glass entitling them to 5oz. pours of beer from attending breweries. Tickets will be available for purchase at the restaurant the day of the event.

The festival will also include a corn hole competition sponsored by Miller Lite. Twelve teams will have a chance to win a brewery prize pack valued at $100 per person and a $50 dinning credit to TAP Sports Bar. The tournament’s bracket will broadcast throughout the restaurant and on TAP Hunter, a premiere restaurant promotional technology partner, for the duration of the competition. On-site registration will take place on a first come, first serve basis.

There will also be an exclusive menu available featuring signature cocktails and appetizers, and entertainment will be provided by DJ Sixth Sense, mixer and producer for WKYS-FM.

Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival

The 8th annual Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival, produced by The Trigger Agency, is returning to National Harbor with two sessions: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m..

There are three pricing options Reserved Platinum Tent Ticket at $119 per person, VIP Crab & Beer Ticket at $89 per person, and Beer & 6 Crab Ticket at $59 per person in advance.

In addition to the crabs and beer, the event will offer live music, arts, crafts and memorabilia exhibits. Complete details on the festival is available by visiting www.mdcrabfest.com or calling (800) 830-3976.
