Tickets are going fast for this year’s Oyster Riot, one of the top “foodie events” in the nation’s capital.
An endless supply of oysters and wines are on the menu for the 23rd annual Oyster Riot hosted by Old Ebbitt Grill. The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 17, and Saturday, Nov. 18. There will be a session from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night and a Saturday matinee from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Attendees will be able to savor more than two dozen different types of oysters from both the east and west coasts of the U.S. and the winning wines from the International Wines for Oysters Competition. There will also be a few other items such as fruit and cheese, shrimp, crab claws, and some hot oyster hors d’oeuvres.
In addition to the food and wine there will be live music during each session. The award winning Mudcat and his Blues Band will preform at the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon sessions. Saturday evenings entertainment has not yet been announced.
Tickets to each session are $150 each and available for purchase online. Tickets for the Saturday evening session are already sold out and it’s expected that the two remaining sessions will sell out in the coming days. No tickets will be sold at the door.
