Qatar Airways Brings its Award-Winning Business Class Qsuites to the Nation’s Capital

Qatar Airways flights from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) will now offer award-winning Business Class Qsuites, making the nation’s capital only the second U.S. destination to offer innovative and ultra comfortable flight experience.

Qsuites feature the industry’s first-ever double beds in Business Class, as well as privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room, a first of its kind in the industry. Qatar Airways proudly launched Qsuites at ITB Berlin in March 2017 to outstanding global acclaim, and has set a new standard for luxury travel with this innovative product.

“Following the U.S. debut and warm welcome of the Qsuite in New York City, we are thrilled to kick off the new year by extending the outstanding offerings of Qsuite to our dedicated business and leisure travelers in the Washington, D.C. area. The introduction of Qsuite to Washington, a city we have served for the past 10 years, demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the utmost quality and service to our valued customers,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive. “Since our launch a decade ago, Washington Dulles has seen some of the highest demand for our business class service across any of our other U.S. gateways, so bringing Qsuite to Washington was a natural choice. We look forward to continuing to revolutionize the way people travel to and from the U.S. capital.”

Qatar Airways was recognized for its launch of Qsuite by receiving the ‘Best Airline Innovation of the Year’ award at the 2017 ULTRAS (Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards) held in London last year.

Qatar Airways had its first flight to Washington Dulles International Airport from Doha on July 19, 2007. In the past year, the airline has carried over 185,000 passengers from Washington, D.C. to destinations across Asia, Africa, the Pacific, and the Middle East. Qatar Airways also remains the preferred carrier for people traveling from Washington, D.C. to the airline’s 13 destinations in India.

One of the world’s fastest growing airlines, Qatar Airways recently added an array of new destinations to its extensive global route network, including Chiang Mai, Thailand; Sohar, Sultanate of Oman; Prague, Czech Republic and Kyiv, Ukraine. Additionally, the airline has announced the upcoming launch of service to Pattaya, Thailand; Canberra, Australia; Penang, Malaysia; and many more. Washington, D.C. was the airline’s second destination to launch in the United States following its launch in New York City. Qatar Airways now serves 10 cities across the U.S. including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Philadelphia.
