For Fall/Winter 2017, the John Varvatos show closed out New York Fashion Week Mens. This year John Varvatos decided to put on his runway show a little more than a week before the start of 2018 New York Fashion Week Mens. With the Grammy’s returned to New York lasr Sunday, the timing was perfect for the designer who has had a long affiliation with rock and roll.
The show named John Varvatos 2.0 explored the notion of looking back to move forward. The idea was to take the foundation of the John Varvatos look and take it to the streets. According to Varvatos, “ In the emergence of John Varvatos 2.0 is a considered spontaneity. An appreciation for impeccable form with a contemporary ease. A fresh approach to casualness that avoids today’s proliferation of sameness. A core identity inbued with a zeal for masculine modernity.”
If this is any indication of how this season’s fashion week is going to go then the bar has been set pretty high. Varvatos once again showed a strong collection with many must have pieces. From the 47 looks that strutted down the runway to the incredible location in a historic gothic former synagogue down to the notable celebrities in attendance, this show had it all. Some of celebrities included Nick Jones, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, Iggy Azalea, Harry Connick Jr and Young Paris.
