For those who love the tailored look, Suit Supply was one of the presentations to attend during New York Fashion Week Men’s held earlier this month. The retailer abandoned showing their latest collection in their trendy Soho loft in favor of the Cadillac House, one of the official NYFW venues.

The move was a wise one, enabling more people to see the collection that stayed trued to it’s design aesthetic but still feeling fresh and a company to continue to watch out. Suit Supply’s tailored looks part of what the company calls, “7 day suiting.” The idea being that a suit or tailored look can be worn every day. It’s just how you style it to be as formal or as casual as the situation warranted.

The important takeaway from this latest collection is Suit Supply’s color story along with its use of lux fabrics. Earth tone shades of dusty rose pinks, blues and camels dominated the looks with emeralds adding a dramatic effect to the pieces. Typically for Fall/Winter designers opt for the rich autumn jewel tones but Suit Supply’s hues seem to invoke a brighter color palette for the season but still just as appropriate.

In addition to color, fabric also plays an important role in the collection. The use of baby alpaca, moleskin, brushed flannel and cashmere seemed to elevate the collection to a more lux level. The use of these materials made the clothes look and feel more luxurious. Washingtonians have long been fans of the Suit Supply and this collection will not disappoint diehard fans. And even with the use of the lux fabrics , if the pieces come in around the same price points as the past collections, Suit Supply will definitely be a winner.
