Jace Lipstein, designer and founder of Grungy Gentleman, debuted his Fall/Winter 2018 collection during New York Fashion Week Men’s on Wednesday, February 7th. The collection showcased looks of both formal and casual style featuring everything from blazers to crew necks, pants, outerwear, and leisurely sportswear. Lipstein wanted to experiment with garment structure and texture.
“Grungy Gentleman is all about expression — merging style with individuality to help men accentuate their boldness, athleticism, and masculinity. The Grungy Gentleman fall/winter collection, the designs, and namely, the pre-existing ideals of our collaborators continue this mission. It’s an exciting, fresh take on urban style, athletic tailoring, and menswear alike — and we are truly excited to show our new collection on the runway,” said Lipstein.
Looks included Grungy Gentleman x Timberland footwear and a Grungy Gentleman x Chalk Line bomber jacket, along with footwear provided by Adidas. DJ Juanyto of Hot 97 spun a playlist of mixed genres while guests sipped on cocktails made with Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice and Hennessey.
The Grungy Gentlemen line is a favorite among professional athletes. As such many of the looks shown on the runway were modeled by several professional athletes including Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Darelle Revis, Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor, NY Giants running back Wayne Gallman, and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carrol.
