Taste of Shaw promises great food and drink

Shaw Main Streets is hosting its annual A Taste of Shaw Gala this Wednesday, April 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The annual event celebrates this hip and up-and-coming neighborhood’s status as a nationally-recognized dining and drinking destination and is a fundraiser for initiatives that enhance and promote commerce within the Shaw neighborhood, such as the two neighborhood-wide open house events and Art All Night in Shaw.

A Taste of Shaw is taking place at the historic Howard Theatre, which will be the backdrop for live music by internally-renowned Ethiopian artist Yehuni Belay ad his band, libations and delicious bites from some of DC’s best bars and restaurants.

This year’s A Taste of Shaw will include nearly two dozens of the neighborhood’s popular restaurants and bars including new arrivals Gaslight Tavern by the Hilton Brothers, an expansion of Po Boy Jim from H Street, the District’s only Georgian cuisine restaurant; Supra and the latest additions to the Convention Center, The Morris American Cocktail Bar and Unconventional Diner.

Tickets for A Taste of Show are $80 if purchased today and increase to $100 for the day of the event. Admission includes unlimited food and drink tastings as well as complimentary valet parking.
