Fogo de Chão is not just a pioneering churrascaria for its expertly grilled cuts of meats but also for its outstanding South American wine list, which has just gotten better with the addition of two new Chilean wines: VIK and Milla Cala by VIK.
Produced by VIK winery in the Millahue Valley of Chile, both wines are red blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah.
Both wines are described as as having incredibly vibrant red fruit aromas (strawberry and raspberry) that harmonize perfectly with those of the barrel.
A “harmonious wine with a persistent elegance” is ascribed to the Milla Cala, and the VIK is said to have “characteristics similar to the great wines of Bordeaux, but with more freshness, more fruit, more dynamic with high precision of tannins without excess.

Fogo de Chão is the first restaurant to be pouring VIK wines in the U.S. and has them available at all of its U.S. locations including downtown Washington, DC and Tysons, Va.
Locally, the Milla Cala is priced at $13 for a 3 oz. glass, $25 for a 6 oz. glass, and $93 for a bottle (and half-price on Wednesdays); and the VIK is $22, $42, and $164.
