While the annual DC VegFest has always been a “rain or shine” event, Compassion Over Killing has had to cancel this year’s event as the result of the Mayor’s Office of the DC Government declaration of a state of emergency in response to the weather forecast related to Hurricane Florence.

This is the first time in the DC VegFest’s 10-year history that it had to cancel due to weather, though it has rained twice before.

“Compassion Over Killing is sad to announce that the 2018 DC VegFest has been cancelled in the face of Hurricane Florence, and we appreciate all of the participation and interest our event has received this year,” said Erica Meier, Executive Director of Compassion Over Killing . “We know that the DC community will join us once again when our event returns next year.”
