
U Street wine and cocktail bar Bin1301 DC has partnered with ShinJu Whisky to
launch The Stew at Buin 1301 featuring Bee Boisseau, master of Keys.
Starting March 11, The Stew will take place every Monday at Bin1301 DC from 8 p.m. to midnight and boasts an all-night happy hour and specialty ShinJu Whisky cocktails. In addition, Boisseau will perform with a rotation of local greats, such as drummer Biscuit Bynum and bass players Taurus Mateen and Corey Baker.
Boisseau, recently signed by Devaughn Music Group has been playing keys since he was child growing up in Richmond, Va. In the spirit of his inspirations –Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane and with the soul of his hip hop idols Dr. Dre, DJ Premier and the late great producer J Dilla — Boisseau brings a rugged integrity, intense passion and a clear vision for cultural empowerment to the keys.
The just released first single entitled “NFL” from Boisseau’s upcoming album “Raheem Devaughn Presents Back to Love,” touches on the disproportionate and biased mistreatment of brown and black people in America and includes cameos by Raheem Devaughn and Wes Felton. Boisseau, also a producer and composer, will present original scores in addition to performing takes on classic jazz and hip-hop favorites during his residency at the Stew.
