On Thursday, Devils Backbone Brewing Company is opening Lemon Grove by PUB, its first pop-up experience in Washington, D.C. It was created in partnership with Drink Company, known for its extravagant temporary bar installations such as the Cherry Blossom Pub, the Miracle on 7th Street and the Game of Thrones Pub. This new incarnation will serve a variety of cocktails showcasing Devils Backbone Hibiscus Hard Lemonade.
In true Pop-Up Bar (PUB) fashion, the over-the-top décor transports guests into a lemon grove, with wooden trellises and lush lemon trees enveloping the space. An interactive augmented reality room allows guests to experience the fresh, springtime vibe on an entirely new level. As part of the experience, guests are able to create their own floral crowns. They can even try their luck at the prize laden gumball machine filled with an assortment of fun Devils Backbone swag.
Devils Backbone Hibiscus Hard Lemonade is an upscale twist on popular malted fruit beverages. Its ingredients include Meyer lemon juice, Lemon Drop hops, Belgian candy sugar, and hibiscus tea.
Guests at Lemon Grove by PUB are also able to enjoy Devils Backbone Hibiscus Hard Lemonade in unique and elevated cocktail offering, such as the Shenandoah Spritz, a variation on the Aperol Spritz using Hibiscus Hard Lemonade in place of prosecco, with a name that pays homage to Devils Backbone’s Virginia roots. Another favorite is the Hibiscus Frosé, which combines rosé wine with Hibiscus Hard Lemonade and fresh strawberry syrup for a delicious take on the popular summer beverage. There’s also the Palomanade, a fusion of lemonade or the Paloma showing the versatility of Hibiscus Hard Lemonade in pairing it with Altos Blanco Tequila, grapefruit juice, and Perrier. For a fun sweet summer treat, try a Lemon Buzz Push Pop, a boozy push pop made with vanilla liqueur, vodka, and Hibiscus Hard Lemonade. Devils Backbone beers, including Hibiscus Hard Lemonade 16 oz. cans, and non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
Lemon Grove by PUB runs through June 16 and is located at 1843 7th St. NW, Washington, D.C.
