Now open in Clarendon is the Buena Vida Social Club. The Social Club occupies the entire third floor of the newly opened La Esquina de Clarendon, a three-level concept which houses TTT Mexican Diner & Buena Vida Clarendon and is located at 2900 Wilson Blvd., 22201.The club is the latest incarnation from Ivan Iricanin, founder and CEO of Street Guys Hospitality, the restaurant group who also brought you Ambar and BABA.
The outdoor experience aims to transports guests to the beach resort town of Acapulco, Mexico. The bright décor with shades of blue, aqua and mauve enrich the open-air space, which provides guests with long-range views of Washington, D.C. from the hillside of Arlington, Virginia. The menu showcases traditional, indigenous Mexican fare from Concept Chef Gerardo Vázquez Lugo. His emphasis is on casual fare and build-your-own tacos. While the cocktail menu features a combination of tropical and frozen cocktails using a diverse selection of South American spirits highlighting agave and sugar cane concoctions.
The Social Club has two full bars and ample seating for up to 144 guests. Around the perimeter, there are 14 built-in booths with pastel cushions and lounge area with a continuous poured concrete sofa, also accented with outdoor cushions for additional sitting. The blue roof also provides solid cover during inclement weather and can be transformed, with the click of a button, into an airy trellis. Another amenity is the cooling misting system to help ward off the famous Washington heat.
Buena Vida Social is open daily for drinks and dinner, from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. A limited brunch menu will also be served Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Social Club also features a DJ Thursday through Saturday night and a lounge area that incorporates a hookah experience for guests.
