Three DC area hotels made SHAPE‘s 2019 Healthy Travel Awards, as featured in the July/August issue. The awards celebrates the best wellness hot spots to relax, refuel, get inspired, and reconnect on your next trip, as determined by the editors.

Eaton DC made the leading fitness magazine’s picks for Best Hotel Spa, stating, “This hotel’s wellness center skews alternative. There are two infrared saunas and a meditation room, yoga, chakra and crystal healing, and astrology and tarot readings.”

For Best Business Hotels, the editors included Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington, DC, citing a “room service menu stocked with healthy food” and the hotel’s in-room yoga mats, massages and complimentary bikes.

Alexandria’s Kimpton Lorien Hotel and Spa received its award for Best Pet Amenities, writing, “Take your pooch on a Canine Cruise throughout the harbor, where dogs on leashes ride free, then take her [to] the VIP (Very Important Pet) Spa for a massage. When the weather is warm, relax with your furry friend for ‘yappy hour; light bites on the outdoor deck.”
