5 restaurants for Super Bowl takeout

With COVID-19 still limiting group gatherings, you will likely be watching the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this Sunday’s Super Bowl from the comfort of your own home. That is why many restaurants are getting ready for some football with special takeout offerings.

Chef Geoff’s Restaurant Group (Chef Geoff’s, Chef Geoff’s West End and Lia’s)

Chef Geoff Tracy and his team have put together a special Build Your Own Super Bowl Bash menu that includes a variety of fan favorite from sausage & pepperoni strombolis to Buffalo chicken dip. There is also a nice selection of libations. Online orders must be placed by 3 p.m. on tomorrow, Feb. 2 for delivery or pick-up on Friday or Saturday.

Valor Brewpub

With its partner Big Frank’s BBQ, Valor Brewpub has put together a special meat lovers Super Bowl menu that includes slabs of ribs and chicken wing platters. They are also selling growlers of their beer for $30 each and 16oz cocktail pouches for $12. Orders must be placed by the end of the day on Friday,, Feb. 5 by emailing events@districtrg.com or calling (202) 547-8459, and picked up on Sunday.

Colada Shop

Colada Shop is giving its signature Caribbean vibe to its Super Bowl package, which includes a dozen Buffalo chicken empanadas, blue cheese dipping sauce, a choice between guava BBQ sandwiches or Cuban sandwiches, and plantain chips with black bean dip. It serves six and is priced at $95. Online orders from its Wharf or 14th Street locations must be placed by 7 p.m. for delivery or pick-up on Sunday.

Zofia’s Kitchen

Pierogies kinda have a football-like shape to them, right? So the Polish dumping shop Zofia’s Kitchen is hoping on the bandwagon with it’s own special Super Bowl package, which includes 30 jumbo chicken wings with 15 bleu cheese and braised celery pierogi, house pickled-fried dill pickle chips, mac & cheese spätzle, and choice of 15 Kansas City=themed sweet BBQ brisket pierogi, 15 Tampa Bay-themed Cubano pierogi, or 15 of any other of Zofia’s pierogi. It is priced at $98. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance by calling (703) 550-6220 for pick-up on Saturday or Sunday.

Sandi Buns

Sand Buns, the pick-up and delivery only burger and chicken sandwich ghost restaurant started by Service Bar, also has team-themed offerings available in conjunction with the Super Bowl. Beginning tomorrow through Sunday, you can order a Kansas City BBQ with onion rings, pulled pork, dill pickles, and Kansas City barbecue sauce; or a Tampa Bay Cuban Burger with Dijon mustard, Swiss cheese, ham, and pickles. Online orders may be placed same day or in advance for pick-up or delivery.
