Bacardi invites you to celebrate National Rum Month

August is National Rum Month and Monday, Aug. 16 is National Rum Day. Yes, rum is so popular it gets both a designated month and day. As a matter of fact, rum currently generates the third highest sales volume in the U.S. spirit industry, behind vodka and whiskey.

To help celebrate throughout the month of August, Bacardi—which has been a leading producer of rum for nearly 160 years—offers these suggested cocktails:

Cuatro Smash

Method: Combine the first three ingredients in a shaker with plenty of ice, and shake. Strain into a highball glass filled with crushed or cubed ice. Top with Q Spectacular Tonic Water. Garnish with a grapefruit peel and a mint spring.

Ocho Old Cuban

Method: Combine all the ingredients (except prosecco and 1 mint leaf) in a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake. Double strain, and top with prosecco and garnish with a mint leaf.

Diez Old Fashioned

Method: Add all ingredients into a rocks glass, fill with ice and stir until well mixed and very cold. Garnish with an orange peel.

Limitada Neat

Method: Use an old fashioned glass, un-chilled. Pour Bacardi Gran Reserva Limitada Rum into the glass. Serve with no garnish. Sip and savor.
