Holiday cocktails with celebrity booze

You will probably not get a chance to rock Christmas carols with Sammy Hagar or bake cannabis-infused gingerbread cookies with Snoop Dogg but you can enjoy some kickass holiday cocktails made with their booze. With that thought it mind, here are five holiday cocktail recipes that use celebrity owned spirits for you to try.

The Red Saint

With more than 20 years of experience in the spirits industry, rock legend Sammy Hagar knows a thing or two about combining the best ingredients with his own top-shelf tequila and created the Red Saint cocktail as a twist on his favorite margarita

  • 1 oz. Santo Blanco Tequila
  • ½ oz. Sammy’s Beach Bar Redhead Rum
  • ½ oz. Sammy’s Beach Bar White Rum
  • ½ oz. Cointreau
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • ½ oz. Tangerine Juice

Splash vanilla extract onto a plate then wet rim of a martini glass. Rim martini glass with cinnamon and sugar (equal parts) and a bit of nutmeg. Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Pour straight up into your rimmed martini glass.

Mule-Tied Plum

Performer Dan Aykroyd’s Crytal Head Aurora is made using English wheat and water from Newfoundland, Canada to craft an additive-free vodka. The vodka’s purity is maintained by way of five distillations and seven filtrations–including three filtrations passed through layers of Herkimer diamonds. All said, it makes a festive base spirit for the punny Mule-Tied Plum cocktail

In a mixing glass, muddle thyme and plum with other ingredients excluding ginger beer. Strain into a mule mug with plenty of ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with thyme and plum slice.

*Spiced Plum Syrup: In a saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup demerara sugar and ½ cup water. Stir in cinnamon, three cloves and diced plums. Bring to a light boil, continuing to stir and press plums to extract the juice. Reduce heat, cool and then fine strain.

Holiday Cheer

D’USSÉ Cognac is as bold and classy as its founder music and media executive Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Crafted by one of the oldest Cognac houses in France, D’USSÉ Cognac VSOP’s rich wood and cinnamon notes make it ideal for the Holiday Cheer cocktail.

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick.

The Penthouse Bubbly

It should come as no surprise that famed hip hop artist and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg is the force behind INDOGGO gin. His debut album included the Grammy-nominated song “”Gin and Juice.” INDOGGO combined with some sparkling wine makes The Penthouse Bubbly cocktail, which is perfect for toasting the holiday season and welcoming in the new year.
