4 Valentine’s staycation spots in the DMV

Many area hotels are wanting to play Cupid this Valentine’s, and we’ve rounded up four of the area’s best Valentine’s staycation offers.

After a $20 million renovation, the Kimpton Banneker Hotel (the former Rouge Hotel) is enticing guests with its Art of Suite Love package, which includes overnight accommodations in a Studio Suite, breakfast in bed for one morning, sparkling wine and chocolate dipped macaroons upon arrival and a $25 credit to the iconic rooftop bar Lady Bird. Additionally, guests can enjoy The Art of Love experience at the on-site French bistro, Le Sel on Valentine’s Day. The shared dinner experience includes a seafood platter, table side Tomahawk experience and a dessert menage a trios. The meal is made complete with a glass of champagne and is $214 per couple. Finally, The Banneker is celebrating “Galentine’s Day” on Friday, Feb. 11 with a celebration in their rooftop bar Lady Bird. For $35, guests can enjoy a variety of small bites, sparkling rose, and a variety of demos including bourbon 101, a self-care pop-up, and how to craft a cocktail, all while listening to the sounds of a live DJ.

Overlooking the Tital Basin and steps for The Wharf, with its many unique shops and restaurants, the Mandarin Oriental, Washington, DC is inviting guests to escape to one of its luxury rooms for an intimate stay, which includes a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne upon arrival, a four-course in-room dinner, and a guaranteed late check-out at 2 p.m. Guest can also take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary 50-foot, in-door heated swimming pool and special spa promotions, including its . This Valentine’s Romance package is available Feb. 11 to Feb. 14 and starts at $898. The hotel’s restaurant, Empress, is also offering a special Lover’s Tower, A Sweet Night Cap by Executive Pastry Chef Claus Olsen. It includes an assortment of decadent sweets and a scotch or champagne pairing in a candlelit setting. This special dessert deal is $89 per person. Reservations are available from Thursday, Feb. 11 through Monday, Feb. 14, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At Loudoun County’s Salamander Resort & Spa, their celebrating love all winter season with a Season of Romance package. Starting at $799 per night during Valentine’s weekend, this offer includes luxurious accommodations, a bottle of sparkling wine and a special welcome amenity of handmade treats. The package also comes with a $100 resort credit that can be used for one of two special Valentine’s tasting dinners at the resort’s Harrimans restauant. Each dinner is a six-course tasting and wine pairing for $260 per guest, with one on Feb. 12 and another on Valentine’s Day. The credit is also good for services at the spa, which is also offering some Valentine’s promotions.

The Ivy Hotel, housed in a 17-room historic mansion and Maryland’s only Relais Châteaux property, is offering a Valentine’s Day package for a weekend romantic retreat that includes a two-night stay in a suite, bottle of champagne upon arrival, $300 dinner credit for Magdalena, made-to-order breakfast in bed and special turndown treat. This special offering also includes The Ivy’s complimentary standard amenities that include afternoon tea service; unlimited champagne and ‘make your own’ top-shelf cocktails at the Mansion Bar; in-room barmoire stocked with local wine, beer, kombucha and snacks; made-to-order breakfast in Magdalena or in-room; and car service within a three-mile radius of the property. The Valentine’s Day package is available Friday, Feb. 11 through Sunday, Feb. 13, starting at $2,327.
