Just in time for Memorial Day weekend travel, OurBus has launched a new bus route that runs between Washington, DC and the southern Jersey Shore. It is the first and only direct bus service from the DC area to five of the most popular beach towns on the southern Jersey Shore.
“Residents of the DC area have been waiting for a clean, fast, and economical way to travel to their favorite beach towns in the southern Garden State – and OurBus offers them a new, customer-friendly option,” says Numaan Akram, CEO of Rally OurBus. “We look forward to providing visitors and homeowners with superb service that will make their summer travels easier, more relaxing, and more convenient.”
The OurBus route to the southern Jersey Shore offers pickups at multiple locations across the DC metro area, including the Stadium Armory Metro station at 192 19th Street SE. It will make a stop in Galloway, NJ at the Frank Sinatra Service Area. Passengers will then switch to a luxury SUV or sprinter van (to Absecon, Margate, and Ventnor) or minibus shuttle vehicle (to Ocean City and Wildwood) which will connect them to their destinations.
The OurBus route from DC to the southern Jersey Shore runs on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Fares start at $59 one way and shore point stops are located in the town centers near the beach.
OurBus also offers direct service to Atlantic City as well as Philadelphia, Richmond, and Newark among others.
Amenities for OurBus passengers include complimentary bottled water, free Wifi, and USB ports at each seat. The buses are contracted with independent coach services and are premium, charter-style motor coaches. Safety protocols for OurBus include comprehensive cleaning/disinfecting of each bus consistent with CDC guidelines at the completion of each trip.
OurBus offers significant flexibility for its riders: trips can be rebooked or canceled on the day of departure, and funds can be loaded into a wallet on the OurBus app. OurBus Select, which is the company’s rider discount program, is available for both families and frequent travelers.
