Check out these hotel happenings for the 4th of July

On Monday, July 4, 2022, the United States will celebrate the 246th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, and many hotels through the National Capital Area are joining in on the celebration. Here is a round-up of some of our favorite offerings:

Gaylord National is celebrating the 4th of July with soulful music and fantastic views. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., local jazz band Phase II is performing in the resort’s 80s-themed rooftop lounge Replay where attendees will have views of the fireworks displays in DC and Northern Virginia. Admission is $25 per person and includes a complimentary cocktail. Room rates start at $231 for guests wishing to stay at the Gaylord National on the night of July 4.

As part of its Summer x MO promotion, Mandarin Oriental is hosting an Independence Day backyard party on its Empress Lawn overlooking the Jefferson Memorial and steps from the fireworks display on the National Mall. From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. there will be a burger bar with classic and gourmet fixings as well as hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and made-to-order ice cream available for purchase. Room rates start at $408 for guests wishing to stay at the Mandarin Oriental on the night of July 4.

Boasts commanding 360-degree views of the Washington Monument, Potomac River, Key and Arlington bridges, Kennedy Center, and the DC skyline, Top of the Gate, The Watergate Hotel‘s rooftop bar and lounge is hosting a fireworks viewing party from 6 p.m. to midnight with a live marching band playing the national anthem alongside the fireworks. General admisition tickets are $425 per person and includes reserved seating, a champagne toast, signature gourmet passed bites, hot and cold food display, and a premium open bar with spirits, wine and beer. In addition, a live marching band will play the national anthem alongside the fireworks. The famed hotel is also offering a “Stay & Celebrate” package on the night of July 4 that starts at $1,306 that includes a Superior King room for two guest and two general admission tickets for the fireworks vieing party.

In celebration of Independence Day 2022, Art and Soul restaurant at YOTEL will be offering a BBQ brunch tasting menu priced at $35 per person Saturday, July 2 through Monday, July 4. Just steps from the U.S. Capitol, diners will enjoy grilled watermelon salad with cucumber, red onions, basil and balsamic dressing, smoked brisket hash with peewee potatoes, cartelized onions, arugula, eggs and chipotle hollandaise, and baked beans bowl with kale, eggs and bacon among many other tasty dishes. Room rates start at $244 for guests wishing to stay at the YOTEL on the night of July 4.

Celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with a a good old-fashioned clambake by Executive Chef James Gee at the Viceroy, priced at $75 per person and available 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, Saturaday, July 2 through Monday, July 4. Menu items to include littleneck clams, jumbo blue crabs, mussels, polish sausage, corn on the cob and more. Room rates start at $278 for guests wishing to stay at the Viceroy on the night of July 4.
