Citi Open draws top names on and off the court

The Citi Open, Washington, D.C.’s premier tennis tournament since 1969 and the fifth largest tennis event in the U.S., will again host a WTA tournament, featuring Venus Williams, in conjunction with its current ATP event, featuring Andy Murray, July 30 through August 7.

Williams and Murray join a stacked 2022 Citi Open field that features multiple former World No. 1 players, Grand Slam champions, former Citi Open titlists, Olympic gold medalists, and Top-20 players from the ATP and WTA Tours.

In addition to its many top players on the courts, the Citi Open fans will enjoy off-court experiences like live music and daily player meet-and-greets along with exceptional hospitality. World Central Kitchen founder and celebrity chef, José Andrés, is headlining the food and beverage lineup, serving up traditional Spanish flauta sandwiches from his world-famous Pepe Food Truck, alongside Maryland native Nicholas Stefanelli, who will be preparing his signature Arancini rice fritters and more from his renowned Michelin-starred restaurant, Masseria.

In addition to local DC institutions like Duke’s Grocery, Roaming Rooster, South Block, King Street Oyster Bar, and Oro Pizza, and dessert offerings from Dolcezza, Georgetown Cupcake, and Ice Cream Jubilee, Moët and Kim Crawford will top the list of beverage partners and premium brands that will make the 2022 edition of the Citi Open a “Best of DC” culinary experience. Tequila brand Real Azul, in partnership with Levy, has also developed an exclusive Citi Open cocktail, the Real Ace, a riff on the Paloma, a summertime favorite.

“Each summer, fans come to the Citi Open not only to see the best players in the world on our courts, but also to spend the day or evening enjoying a great food and beverage festival with a wide selection of some of the best chefs, restaurants, and brands from DC and around the country,” said Citi Open Chairman Mark Ein.

Single session tickets and full tournament packages for the Citi Open are still available.
