Act fast: Amtrak is offering USA Rail Pass for just $299

Amtrak’s USA Rail Pass is on sale for just $299, a savings of $200 off the regular price—but you must purchase by this Friday, Jan. 20.

A USA Rail Pass allows passengers to book up to 10 coach class travel segments over a 30-day period to more than 500 destinations. A travel segment is counted when a passenger boards and disembarks one of Amtrak’s scheduled services. If the trip involves making connections, passengers have to use a segment credit for each connection.

After the USA Rail Pass is purchased, passengers are able to start booking each segment of their trip directly from their purchase confirmation, by going to ‘Modify Trip’ on Amtrak.com, or by looking up their reservation on the Amtrak mobile app. The USA Rail Pass has no blackout or time of day restrictions on all qualified routes.

It is also important to note that the USA Rail Pass is only valid for 120 days following the date of purchase, which means all travel would need to be completed by Friday, May 20. There are several other restrictions including no upgrades to Business Class or private rooms and no segments can be used for the Auto Train, Acela, Thruway bus connections (7000-7999 series), and the Canadian portion of trains operated jointly by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada. Complete terms and conditions should be reviewed prior to purchasing a USA Rail Pass.
