Just in time for summer: American Airlines launches new nonstop between DC and Madison, WI

Following a record number of tourists visiting Madison, WI, in 2022, American Airlines has added a new nonstop route to make it easier for travelers from the DMV to visit.

Now through at least November, the new service to Madison will operate on a daily basis with the following schedule:

  • Depart Washington, D.C. (DCA) 8:30 a.m. — Arrive Madison (MSN) 9:42 a.m.
  • Depart Madison (MSN) 10:15 a.m. — Arrive Washington, D.C. (DCA) 1:05 p.m.

The new service is operated by American’s fleet of smaller, regional Canadair RJ 900 jets. They comprise nine reclining first class and 67 regular economy seats.

With the addition of the American flights, travelers in the DMV now have two options to get directly to Madison. Delta Airlines started offering nonstop service in 2021.

Madison is not only the capital city of Wisconsin, but it is also an exciting city for travelers of all ilk — from outdoor enthusiasts and foodies to cultural hounds and history buffs.

The summer season is a particularly good time to visit Madison with its many annual festivals and events, including Concerts on the Square, Sugar Maple Music Festival, Great Taste of the Midwest, Seltzer & Cider Fest, and Taste of Madison. Of course, no visit to Madison is complete without a visit to the city’s famed Farmer’s Market, the largest producer-only market in the country.
