Alexandria Bier Garden services up a taste of Germany with a twist

Historic Old Town Alexandria has welcomed a new addition to its vibrant dining scene – the Alexandria Bier Garden.

At 710 King Street, Alexandria Bier Garden is a rebranding and transformation of the former Village Brauhaus. The new ownership team of Fito Garcia, Augusto Campo, and Michael Ciuffardi, who operate several other restaurants throughout Northern Virginia, including the Inca Social Peruvian restaurants, have breathed new life into the space, creating a lively venue that serves traditional German food and drink with a modern twist.

Visitors will find a robust selection of German brews, including popular choices like Hofbräu and Weihenstephan, and a menu with traditional Bavarian dishes alongside some Peruvian-inspired offerings. They also have seating options ranging from a bustling bar to a more relaxed indoor beer garden.

In addition, the owners are planning a rooftop expansion, set to open in September, just in time for Oktoberfest. This rooftop will offer guests an elevated dining experience, literally and figuratively, providing panoramic views of Old Town Alexandria’s charming streets.

As the Alexandria Bier Garden settles into its new home, it’s clearly more than just a restaurant and bar. It’s a place where people can come together, enjoy good food and drink, and experience the warmth and camaraderie characteristic of a traditional German Biergarten, right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria.
