One notable addition is the Stretch Lab, known for its one-on-one assisted stretching services. This California-based franchise provides personalized stretch routines designed to increase mobility and flexibility, reduce muscle pain, and improve performance. Stretching has also been shown to increase serotonin levels — the hormone that helps stabilize our mood, reduce stress, and overall makes us feel good — which causes a decrease in depression and anxiety. There are multiple Stretch Lab locations in the DMV, including brand-new outlets in Chevy Chase and Georgetown.

The Fhitting Room

The Fhitting Room, a New York-based strength and HIIT studio, has also made its way to D.C. Located adjacent to the recently renovated New York Sports Club (NYSC) in Dupont Circle, it offers high-intensity interval training classes that promise to get your heart rate up and your muscles working. Research has indicated that high-intensity interval training induces numerous physiological adaptations that improve exercise capacity and metabolic health. Fhitting Room class attendees will have access to NYSC the day of their class, with the ability to use the equipment for an additional workout or cool down, locker rooms, sauna, recovery lounge, and more.
