Sea Suite Cruises expands fleet with new 48-passenger tiki boat in partnership with Whitlow’s

Whitlow’s on Water

Sea Suite Cruises, the parent company behind DC’s only pedal party cruise boats, Potomac Paddle Club, and the city’s sole floating tiki bar party boats, Potomac Tiki Club, is gearing up for the 2024 season with a new addition to their fleet. In collaboration with iconic DC and former Clarendon bar, Whitlow’s, they have launched Whitlow’s on Water, a 50-foot, 48-passenger floating bar.

Set to sail from Georgetown Harbour and Navy Yard starting this upcoming St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Whitlow’s on Water promises to be an exciting new venture for both Sea Suite Cruises and Whitlow’s. It continues the innovative water-based offerings that have become a hallmark of the Sea Suite Cruises brand.

Sea Suite Cruises was launched in 2018 by lifelong friends Jack Walten and Jack Maher, affectionately known as “the Jacks.” Starting with a single pontoon pedal boat, operating out of Georgetown Harbour under the name The Potomac Paddle Club, the company has since expanded significantly, with more than a dozen boats operating in DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Richmond.

The Jacks left their day jobs in 2021 to focus on Sea Suite Cruises, aiming to create a suite of unique water-based offerings in the region. Their ventures have become popular for social events, bachelorette parties, family reunions, corporate gatherings, and other celebrations.

Whitlow’s owner Jon Williams, a friend of the Jacks since their early twenties, has always wanted to have a bar on the water. After three years of planning, this joint venture with Sea Suite Cruises brings his dream to fruition.

Whitlow’s on Water will feature an 18-foot U-shaped bar surrounded by stool seating. The fully covered vessel is designed to operate in all kinds of weather and will have two televisions, an onboard bathroom, and plush seating couches. While group cruises will be a mainstay, Whitlow’s on Water will also offer individual tickets, making it accessible to a wider range of guests.

With the launch of Whitlow’s on Water, Sea Suite Cruises continues to redefine DC’s water-based entertainment scene, offering residents and visitors alike unique and memorable experiences on the Potomac River.
