Art All Night returns to D.C. for 15th Year

From dusk till dawn, the District’s streets will come alive with music, color, and live performances as Art All Night celebrates its 15th anniversary on Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12. This free, nonstop celebration will span neighborhoods across all 8 Wards of the city.

For one night, galleries spill onto sidewalks, storefronts become stages and quiet corners come alive with sound. The event draws thousands of residents and visitors who move from block to block, discovering local artists and exploring the city after dark.

Launched 15 years ago to connect D.C. artists with their communities, Art All Night has grown into a citywide event that spotlights local talent, supports small businesses and animates neighborhoods across the District. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Department of Small and Local Business Development, and other city agencies and community organizations support it, keeping admission free and programming open to all.

This year’s lineup spans live music, dance and visual art displayed in unexpected settings. Among the highlights is “District of Wonder,” a circus-inspired experience presented by Events DC in partnership with Shaw Main Streets and DowntownDC BID, featuring performances, music and interactive activities for all ages. In Historic Anacostia, the Anacostia BID brings its own celebration to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE under the theme “Good Trouble. Louder!” — with visual art, spoken word, food, fashion and skateboarding filling the corridor throughout the evening.

Schedules, neighborhood guides and event updates are available by downloading the Art All Night app.
