More than 80 artisans to showcase wearable art at Smithsonian’s Craft2Wear

More than 80 of the country’s finest artisans will show and sell their work at the Smithsonian Women’s Committee’s 21st Craft2Wear event Sept. 25 to 27.

The annual event, held for the second year at the historic Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building, highlights wearable art including jewelry, accessories and clothing. It is located at 900 Jefferson Drive SW, on the National Mall between the Smithsonian Castle and the Hirshhorn Museum. The nearest Metro stop is served by the Blue, Orange and Silver lines.

With the holidays approaching, the event offers shoppers an early chance to find one-of-a-kind gifts for a significant other, family and friends.

The event is produced by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee, which uses the funds raised to award annual grants across the Smithsonian’s 21 museums and libraries, nine research facilities, traveling exhibits and the National Zoo. Since 1966, the committee has awarded more than $14 million in grants.
