Peruvian Brothers, a fast-casual restaurant known for its authentic Peruvian cuisine, is opening its third location at 660 North Capitol Street NW, just a short walk from the U.S. Capitol and Union Station. The new restaurant, set to open Monday, April 20, represents a significant step forward for the immigrant-founded business, which has grown from a single food truck into a regional favorite.
The opening day will feature a celebration of Peruvian culture, including free alfajores—traditional Peruvian cookies—and complimentary bottles of the restaurant’s Rocoto Hot Sauce for the first 100 customers.
Founded in 2013 by brothers Giuseppe and Mario Lanzone, Peruvian Brothers has built a reputation for its empanadas, sandwiches, and other dishes inspired by the flavors of their childhood in Lima, Peru. The brothers have expanded their business over the past 13 years, earning recognition as Marca Perú Ambassadors and “Gastro-Diplomats” for promoting Peruvian cuisine in the United States.

“This opening is our biggest restaurant yet, just steps from the U.S. Capitol,” said Giuseppe Lanzone, who serves as the company’s CEO. A two-time U.S. Olympic rower, Giuseppe credits his athletic discipline for helping him grow the business.
Mario Lanzone, the executive chef, brings years of culinary experience to the menu, which features Peruvian street food staples alongside new offerings. The 3,000-square-foot space will include 55 seats for dine-in customers and a mural by local artist JAHRU, depicting La Punta, Callao, the brothers’ hometown in Peru.
The restaurant will also feature a full bar, including its popular Pisco Sour Slushies, a frozen twist on Peru’s national cocktail. Guests can look forward to the return of the restaurant’s “Alpaca Happy Hour,” a family-friendly event that includes live alpacas, music, and a celebration of Peruvian culture.
Peruvian Brothers North Capitol will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with weekends reserved for private events.
